Band Invitationals
The Xavier High School Marching Saints' color guard performs during the Marion Band Invitational at Thomas Park in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, September 22, 2007. Bands traveled from around the state to compete. Each year awards are given to most outstanding overall drum major, color guard, horn line and drum line as well as awards in each class.
I guess this ran in black and white, which pretty much stinks, but what can you do.
Funny that I played in this marching band competition when I was a freshman, or was I a sophmore? Sort of bummed though, because I've now covered three marching band competitions and Valley wasn't at any of them.
My recommendations for bands you have to see this year: obviously Valley (even though I haven't seen them yet), CR Kennedy, Jefferson and Washington... but the best show I've seen so far has been Independence High School... VERY COOL
Independence High School colorguard members danced with skeletons in their nightmare themed show at the Little Hawk Marching Invitational at City High in Iowa City on Saturday, September 29, 2007.
