Veterans Stand Down

Harry Rote (left), a vietnam veteran, and his son Carmon Rote (right), both of Cedar Rapids attended the Veterans' Stand Down in Veterans' Memorial Building in Cedar Rapids on Friday, October 5, 2007. The Stand Down is held around the country and provides services and support as well as food and clothing for homeless and near homeless veterans. Leroy Wegmann of Marion (middle) wanted to do what he could to help give fellow veterans a break by lifting their spirits and self-esteem.
